Critiques

The club will hold a number of critiques throughout the year. We do not use the term ‘competition’ as it is misleading as there is no particular competitive element in our events. They are intended as fun, a chance to display your work and to receive expert and helpful feedback from an experienced judge. Viewing others’ images will hopefully be interesting and inspiring.

The following rules are not intended to be intimidating in any way but to ensure that all can understand how the critiques will work and how images can be submitted

Critique Rules

  1. The critiques are for fun and the comments are intended to help and improve your photography, there are definitely no losers! All club members are encouraged to enter the critiques.
  2. Critiques may be on a theme where the image presented should in some way refer to the theme or open where any image may be submitted.
  3. Images are submitted anonymously and identified only by the membership number.
  4. The author should conceive and provide a name of the image
  5. The image must be taken by the club member submitting it who must own the copyright. If it is a composite image (i.e. made up from several separate images) the author must have photographed ALL of the elements within it.
  6. Only fully paid up members of the club may enter the critiques.
  7. All entries must be submitted by the stated critique event closing date. In unusual circumstances late entry made by possible with the prior agreement of the critique secretary
